Terms of Service
Last updated: March 30, 2026
1. Agreement
By installing or using Priority Scoring — RICE, WSJF, ICE & Rovo AI for Jira ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not install or use the App. These Terms apply in addition to the Atlassian Marketplace Terms of Use and the Atlassian Customer Agreement.
2. Description of the App
Priority Scoring for Jira is a Jira Cloud app that helps teams prioritise their backlog using structured scoring frameworks. The App provides:
- Three custom field types on Jira issues: RICE score (Reach × Impact × Confidence ÷ Effort), WSJF score (Business Value + Time Criticality + Risk Reduction ÷ Job Size), and ICE score (Impact × Confidence × Ease).
- A global dashboard page for project-level priority ranking and backlog health analysis.
- A dashboard gadget showing ranked priority scores across a project's issues.
- A Rovo AI agent ("Priority Scoring") that can suggest and — depending on the configured apply mode — apply RICE, WSJF, or ICE scores by analysing Jira issue content.
3. License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on your Atlassian Jira Cloud instance in accordance with your Atlassian Marketplace subscription.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to:
- Use the App only for its intended purpose within Jira Cloud.
- Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
- Not use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or Atlassian's terms.
- Configure the Rovo AI apply mode appropriately for your organisation's policies before enabling score-writing via Rovo.
5. AI Features — Important Notice
The App includes a Rovo AI agent that uses Atlassian's Rovo platform to analyse Jira issue content and suggest or apply priority scores. By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Scores are advisory. AI-generated scoring suggestions are decision-support tools only. They are not a substitute for professional judgement, business expertise, or due diligence. Your team is solely responsible for all prioritisation decisions.
- Atlassian's AI terms apply. Issue content processed by the Rovo agent is subject to Atlassian's Privacy Policy and their AI data handling terms. We do not control or operate Atlassian's AI infrastructure.
- Apply mode controls what the Rovo agent is permitted to do. The App offers three modes: suggest (read-only, no writes), confirm (single-issue writes), and auto (bulk writes). In all cases, Rovo presents a summary of planned actions before executing them and requires explicit user confirmation. Administrators are responsible for choosing the mode appropriate to their organisation and for setting a sensible bulk limit.
- Optional comment writing. If enabled, the Rovo AI agent may post comments on Jira issues. This feature is disabled by default and must be explicitly activated by an administrator.
- AI output accuracy. We make no representations about the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated score suggestions. Results depend on the quality and completeness of issue descriptions in your Jira instance.
6. Availability and Support
- The App is provided on an "as available" basis. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
- The App runs on the Atlassian Forge platform; its availability depends on Atlassian's infrastructure.
- Support is available Monday – Sunday, including holidays. Support requests can be sent to support@janekbehrens.de. We aim to respond within 24 hours. For critical issues, include "URGENT" in the subject line.
7. Data and Privacy
Our handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy. In summary:
- The App processes Jira issue data solely to compute and display priority scores and backlog health metrics.
- All data remains within the Atlassian platform. We operate no external servers.
- Score dimensions and configuration are stored in Atlassian Forge Storage and are deleted when the App is uninstalled.
- When the Rovo AI agent analyses issues, issue summaries and descriptions are processed within Atlassian's Rovo platform, subject to Atlassian's AI data handling terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The App, including its code, design, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Janek Behrens. Your license to use the App does not transfer any ownership rights. Scoring methodologies (RICE, WSJF, ICE) are established industry frameworks and are not owned by us.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted. We make no warranty regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of AI-generated scoring suggestions.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Janek Behrens be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App or reliance on AI-generated scores, regardless of the theory of liability.
Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
- You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your Jira instance.
- We may discontinue or modify the App at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes.
- Upon uninstallation, all App-related data in Forge Storage is deleted. Custom field values remain in Jira until the fields are removed from Jira's field configuration.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Germany.
