Live Jira progress on your Confluence pages

Progress bars for Jira epics, releases and saved filters, colored like in Jira and live for every reader. Dated snapshots for readers without Jira, and two macros that need no Jira at all.

Setup

Running in three steps

1

Install

Once the app is live on the Atlassian Marketplace, a Confluence admin installs it on the Confluence site.

2

Connect Jira

For the Jira macros, a site admin connects Jira on the same site in Atlassian Administration. Progress Bar and Page Progress work without it.

3

Type /progress

Edit a page, type /progress and pick a macro. Check the live preview, save and publish the page.

Common questions

How do I show Jira epic progress on a Confluence page?
Edit a page, type /progress and choose Epic Progress. Search the epic by name or key, check the live preview and save. The bar shows how many of the epic's work items are done, in progress and to do, from their status in Jira, like Jira's own child-issue progress.
Can people without Jira access see the progress?
Yes, with a published snapshot. An editor of the page who can see the work items in Jira clicks Publish snapshot, and everyone who can see the page then sees these numbers with their date. When an editor opens the page and the snapshot is older than 15 minutes, its numbers are read again with that editor's Jira permissions; this can be turned off per macro. Reading a snapshot never causes a Jira request. A snapshot keeps no assignees or account IDs.
Who sees which numbers?
Every reader sees the numbers their own Jira permissions allow. The app reads Jira and Confluence with the permissions of the person reading the page, so issue security and page restrictions apply. People without access to the work items see a short note instead of numbers, unless an editor published a snapshot.
Do I need Jira?
No. Progress Bar and Page Progress work with Confluence alone. Epic Progress, Jira Progress and Progress List read Jira on the same site; a site admin connects Jira in Atlassian Administration after the app is installed in Confluence.
Does the app change anything in Jira or Confluence?
No. It has no write access to Jira or Confluence. Besides published snapshots, it keeps only a little app data without personal data in Atlassian's Forge storage, and it runs on Atlassian with no external servers.
Is it free?
Confluence sites with up to 10 users pay nothing, with all five macros and snapshots. Larger sites start with a free trial; after the trial it is priced per user.
