Most questions are answered in the documentation. Common ones:
- Who can add the macros? Anyone who can edit the page: type /progress while editing. Only the installation needs a Confluence admin; connecting Jira needs a site admin (setup).
- Confluence asks me to "Allow access": Atlassian's one-time consent for apps that read data with your own permissions. Each person answers it once, readers of a snapshot too (details).
- "This progress comes from Jira, which you cannot open": your account has no Jira access on this site. Ask your Jira admin for access, or ask an editor of the page to publish a snapshot.
- "Epic Progress for Confluence is not connected to Jira yet": a site admin connects it in Atlassian Administration: Apps → Epic Progress for Confluence → connect to Jira. Progress Bar and Page Progress already work.
- "… cannot find the work item …": it does not exist, or you may not see it in Jira. Check the macro settings (pencil icon while editing the page) or ask your Jira admin for access.
- The number differs from Jira: Epic Progress counts the work items directly under the epic, and Jira Progress leaves out sub-tasks for projects and releases unless you untick that option. Every reader sees only what Jira lets them see.
- A snapshot is not shown: the macro settings changed after publishing (publish it again), a Confluence admin turned off published snapshots for the site, or the trial or subscription has ended.
- "Epic Progress for Confluence: the subscription is not active": the trial or subscription has ended; a Confluence admin can start or renew it under Settings → Apps → Manage apps.
What to include in a bug report
- Which macro, and what it counts (epic, project, release, saved filter or JQL; work items or story points)
- What the macro shows: the title of the message, or a screenshot (it helps a lot)
- Whether the reader can open Jira, and whether a published snapshot is involved
- Company-managed or team-managed Jira project
